today we had to do a god wit migration dlo we did it with a biddy my buddy was Calvin i think we did a good job on it we talked how the baby god wits new how to fly to Alaska and how long is the it from new Zealand to Alaska .

how to make a straw rocket

on Friday my school went to teach and after we made rockets but be for we made the real deal we made straw rockets so after we where told to make google slides here are some instructions in case you want to make it your self.

Reading

Today at school we did reading where we made a google slides then there were little boxes on one of the slides and there was "how do we get over seas?" There was today, 30 years ago and 100 years ago. We where not allowed to google what we need to know we put on our prior knowledge. Our prior knowledge is what we already know. It was fun doing it we all worked together to put on ideas and maybe teach each others because of what we say other people might not know.

Rocket Collage

On Friday, after tech, the year seven and eights went with Mr Dunn to make some rockets. Before we made rockets that would be launched into the air, we made straw ones. Here is a collage showing some people flying or making their straw rockets.

Rockets

At Tech we were working on two types of rockets. A straw rocket and a Paper rocket. I was working with Daniel, Harry and AJ. The first rocket we had to do was the straw rocket. We cut out pieces of paper then attached them to our straws with sellotape. We did the same with the top of the straw where we bent it and sellotaped it. We then put the small straw in the a big straw. We also used the big straw to blow the rocket out and watched it fly.

today at the first block at school we where nominating on who would be a school leader next year when we are year 8 there was a lot of votes i am not quit sure who to pick to be head boy but i know who to pick for head girl and sports leaders and manaiakalani leaders it is hard but i will have to pick but i will have to see who is the best at sports and evrey thing else.

I have had a little bit of fun this year. I enjoyed electives well we would not know what electives are because it happens in like term two or term three everyone was impressed in the show the we put on like we put on a great show everyone was impressed you i mean i liked the since.

oh and we do swimming it was fun and guess when me we actually presented assembly and we speaked in the microphone it was fun but we mess up because we ring the bell to late

Oh and on 2016 at term four we got 84 blog posts it's not that impressive but it is what it is

athletics day

today at school it was athletics day it was a lot of fun doing the sports activities my favorite one was the sponge one. firs you had to run to the other side then fill your sponge with water then rinse it out into your bucket of water and witch ever team that has the most water in their bucket but it was not that simple. so first we had to zigzag around the cones then jump over two bars that where set up and that was it simple i know but a lot of fun and  my team won we had the  most water in our bucket. i think the reason we won is because we where cheering each other on and saying you can do it and dont give up and that why i think we won Evan it was poring down with rain actually we won all of the challenges it was fun for me.but sadly athletics day was canceled but it was fun while it lasted the reason it was canceled is because there was to much rain.

Today and yesterday my writing group had been making instructions on how to make a paper plane or in other words a paper dart i think i have done a good gob creating these instructions it was really fun for me and i hope who ever is reading this under stands my instructions on how to make a paper plane.

hyperbole story

Once their was a boy named Ben he didn't like to clean his room a lot. Ben said Ben's mum what said Ben this is the one millionth time i have asked you to “clean your room”, said Ben's mum ok” ok il clean it said Ben we have to go shopping Ben said Ben's mum Ben asked if he could get a game. Ben's mum said that's like one hundred thousand dollars but if i don't i will die said Ben no means no Ben's mum said. It came the next morning Ben went to school then Ben got caught playing a video game on his Chromebook the teacher was mad enough she could lift a tree up off the ground. Ben's teacher yelled at him and said this is like the millionth time you have been caught playing games.i have too call your mum now !!! the teacher said. No no Ben said if you do my mum will kill me. ok i will not call your mum but if you get caught one more time i will call your mum the teacher said. Ben went home, i have mountains of homework today said to Ben mum this is going to take me forever to do. The next day at school when it was lunch time Ben forgot to make his lunch he said to his friend i am so hungry i could eat a horse.

today and yesterday my class had to make a Hyperbole story we started it yesterday and finished it today Hyperbole is a very big exaggeration like oh i have a mountain of home work you don't actually have mountains of home work you just have a little bit but you dont want to do it. Or if you say this is the millonth time i have told you not to do that its not actually millionth time you have told some one to do or not to do something.

gotwit learning

For the last couple of weeks we have been learning about the Godwit bird.watch this prezzie to find out more. Godwits  are one of the most coolest birds ever well i think they are i cant believe they can make that distance without stopping for 8 days that is impressive its like running for 8 day i cant believe they can make that distance. i researched a lot what they look like what do they eat where do they live what eats them. so as you can see i have researched a lot and me and my school buddy's got a lot of info and put it all in this prezzie.

water in schools

today at school Mrs Anderson taught us about hydration and dehydration and that we need to keep hydrated and if we dont we will have a big head ache and a lot more bad things that is why we are now a water school a water school is. a school is a school that only drinks water not coke or any other fizzy drink or energy drink or juice with sugar in the drink. we dont drink any drink with sugar in. so Mrs Anderson said we had to create a dlo about why it is important to be hydrated.

today at school me and my buddy's oh sane and Harlem did a cyber smart dlo it was a lot of fun doing it we learnt how to be cyber smart from Mrs o i was int there i was sick the day before we did the dlo so i did int know what to do then my friends helped me.

Rhythm interactive

on Monday at school we went to Rhythm interactive i really enjoyed it we had to listen for the beat of the drum that johnny and Lucy did then we had to copy the beat and when johnny sang we sang es well it was not until the end of the show that they started speaking Evan thou they only started talking at the end it was still a really fun time.

godwit learning

This term our inquiry focus was on the Bartailed Godwit but in Maori it is known as the Kuaka. The Yr7's have created a popplet together that tells informations about the appearance, habitat, Migration diet and what effects Godwit/Kuaka in different ways. We also added in some images and videos to give a clear picture of the special bird.  Did you know that they have a 8-9 day non stop flight, this adds up to one whole week and one day which is a short period of time considering they are flying long distance.   We look toward to learn more about the unique birds.

today at school the year 7s where thinking about being a leader next year when we are year 8 we where typing who do we think are good leaders and we will vote for the new school leader and being a leader is a big responsibility and next year we will go camping we will get more trust worthy and make new frinds

cross country ls1 and ls2ty

for the past couple of weeks the whole of ls2 and ls1 have been practicing cross country it was rely hot and i was exhausted this is our last week of cross country the it started form 2 laps to 3 laps to 4 laps to 5 laps next time we do it it will be 7 laps i bet i cant do that but i will try the key is to pace yourself then you might make it. it has helped me lots of times i used to sprint at the start and i got tired half way through but then our coach told us to pace our self's it did help me a lot.

Olympic inquiry

For the last couple of weeks my and my partner Christopher have been working on our inquiry. Our subject was to find out about the ancient Olympic and the modern Olympics and compare them. We also found their differences. It was really fun doing it and I learnt a lot of stuff. Did you now that only the men where allowed to compete in the Olympics and women were forbidden from playing and watching can you believe that!

Warriors

Today at school we went to assembly we sore the Warriors not the whole team just Ryan Hoffman and John Palavi they both tout us how to look after our self they told us when they went to bed and when we should get to bed. they also told us how to have a health diet drink lots of water and milk and have good things to eat. They also told us how to play fair in a sports game and not cheat.

Today at school we had to write a poem about a box. You could put everything in the box. We were allowed to work in pairs. I think I did really good. We made it from our ideas of each sentience. I really like the end part where you could put anything in it and it has room for everything.

Olympic current events

Today at school me and my class mates it was about how a running woman that tripped over, her name is abbey she really hurt her knee then a kiwi runner named Nikki helped her to a wheel cheer and that is sportsmanship. Because  of good sportsmanship they both made it in the finals i can see a little boy watching this and saying wow i want to be like her and help all my friends and be a good person. seeing Nikki help abbey  made me think it dos int matter who it is it dose int matter if you dose not like them that much always help some one in need of help no matter how small there problem is.

Olympic poster

today at school me and my class had to create a dlo of our own Olympics poster there are lots others but i think my one is one of the best because i put in a little saying on the left hand side it says if your good at a sport your meant for the Olympics.

For the past couple of days my partner jasmine and i have been creating this poster for a hover bike. The big spiky bubbles are what interest people and get their attention. the things like the price and best of the best and new are the things that get peoples attention. The purpose of this was to sell a hover and to make people want to bye it and to find out what attracts peoples attention. The persuasive language that we used was its amazing best of the best and new improved hover bike to attract peoples attention.

today at school we had to do a maths game called quizzes it was a change we had 10 seconds to answer the questions i think i did good this time because i got no answer wrong and it was my first time getting 100 % accuracy i think the reason i got nothing wrong is because we did our 5 times tables and i know my 5 times tables.

5 Minute Writing!

This is the tale of a very unpopular orangutan who gets lost in the Amazon rain forest! He was on a normal walk when suddenly he heard the trees falling and the branches snapping. The people who look after the animals, seiged to the rescue. They were helping the animals because a bulldozer was tearing apart the rain forest! They called their way to the bulldozer, "Stop, stop!" All the animals rushed but the orangutan ran so hard that he realized that there was no one and nothing near him. He ran into the plants and through the river. He went to have a drink, then a repugnant Parana jumped at him! He latched his hands onto the Parana massacring it. He then threw the dead Parana then a snake ate it up. Then he sees the bulldozer. He ran up to the bulldozer. He then threw the driver out of it and drove off! The lesson the driver learnt is to not destroy other peoples homes. Then the orangutan drove home and he lived happily ever after, until the snake ate the other snake, and the other snake ate the next snake and the next snake ate the orangutan! The End.

This is a story Latham and I have created! We had to take turns writing about an orangutan who gets lost in the Amazon rain forest! We wrote sentence by sentence and it was really fun! We thought it would be really funny to end it off with a snake who eats the other snake who then eats the next snake and the next snake eats the orangutan!

Get wise

today the year 7s went to get wise our instructor Jeremy tort us how to save money and how you can earn money how to get money for free and when you have money spend some on you and save some to he also told us that in life you have cross overs when you have to chose the easy way and the hard way the hard way is better because gives you challenges to help you succeed and the easy way is quiet life.

We should not be afraid of spiders because if they got extended we would die of starvation because all the flies would eat all our food but there other insects that eat flies but spiders eat more than 200 insects per year.75% of children think that spiders are disgusting ugly creatures but did you know that spiders are more scared of you than you are of them.

it's ok to be weary of them because some spiders are poisonous like the black widow or white tail or trailers

normally flick hears at you it will annoy you but it is not poisonous tarantulas only bite if you get to close.

Without spiders scientists cannot continue there work on the spiders web. Scientists get a lot of web and make it strong because a lot of web silk is very very strong. Strong enough to hold a giant truck.
My personal favorite spider is the jumping spider because it looks like a small tarantula and are non poisonous and when a fly flies past it quickly jumps up fast and eats the fly i've actually seen it with my own two eyes thank you and have a good day.

This shows that I have used expression most of the time during my speech.

As far as aliens go, I suspect pretty strongly that there’s life in space. We know of over 300 planets orbiting other stars, and we’ve only just started looking. In our Milky Way Galaxy alone there are probably literally billions of planets. Winter is coming to northern China—and with it, another season of heavy smog. Smog is a hazy blend of smoke and fog caused by pollution in industrial areas. On Monday, in the large city of Harbin, small-particle pollution rose to a record 40 times higher than what is considered to be safe by the World Health Organization (WHO). The thick haze caused visibility to fall to less than half a football field, grinding the city to a halt.

When Wu Kai, a 33-year-old Harbin resident, looked out her apartment window on Monday, she couldn’t see anything. At first, she thought it was snowing. Then she realized it was smog. Her husband left for work wearing a mask to cover his mouth and nose and stop him from breathing in the pollution. His regular bus wasn’t running because of the low visibility. “It’s scary, too dangerous,” Kai told the Associated Press. “How could people drive or walk on such a day?”

Many people can’t get around. Authorities in the city closed primary and middle schools and some highways on Monday. Harbin’s Taiping International Airport canceled or delayed at least 40 flights.

Smog Season

Northern China experiences year-round air pollution from factory emissions and the huge number of vehicles on the road. Typically, the air pollution is at its worst in the winter, when more coal is burned to heat homes and buildings. Harbin’s municipal heating systems kicked in on Sunday. On Monday, visibility was down to less than 55 yards, according to state media.

China’s environmental protection agency monitors the level of harmful particles in the air. The agency saw readings as high as 1,000 micrograms per cubic meter at several monitoring stations in Harbin on Monday. WHO says a safe level is 25 micrograms per cubic meter.

Pollution Problems

China’s major cities have some of the world’s worst smog. Record levels of air pollution crippled Beijing, the capital, for weeks last winter. The Chinese government, which had long ignored the problem, is finally taking notice. In September, China’s Cabinet announced a plan that aims to reduce the country’s heavy reliance on coal to below 65 percent of total energy usage by 2017. Last week, Beijing also announced a set of color-coded emergency measures for bad pollution days.

Fixing the pollution program will be costly for the Chinese government. Officials say the country will need to spend nearly $817 billion to fight pollution.  But the cost of ignoring it could be much worse.

some people say they have seen ufos some people don't believe them because they don't have any proof or witnesses. No one knows if aliens are real or not i think they are even if they are real the government wouldn't tell us.

Today I completed this e-ako challenge. It helped me to think about making groups of tens and ones. The questions were a little bit hard because they try and trick you so I learnt I have to read the questions carefully.

ANZAC Letter.

For the past few days our classes focus has been on ANZAC. We had to write a letter from the eyes of a soldier in the trenches. I researched about life in the trenches by reading captain Charlie May's diary entry and wrote this letter.

For home work we researched on lady liberty and made a DLO on it. I found out that France gave America the statue of Liberty as a gift. I had fun finding out about the statue.
